ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
The Master in Electronics Engineering is designed to provide students with a formal qualification in engineering at the master’s level. The candidate may choose any area of electronics engineering offered based on research cluster of Electronics Communication, Microelectronics and semicon industries, Industry Robotics. Career opportunities exist in a wide range of organizations including manufacturing companies, research organizations, academic institutions, energy agencies, local, state and federal governments and local authorities.
Programme Structure
PHASE I – COURSEWORK:
- RESM7901 - Postgraduate Research Methodology.
- ELPS 7903 – English Language for Postgraduate Studies (this can be taken during the early phase, although not necessarily during the first semester)
PHASE II (a) – PROPOSAL DEFENCE
- Candidates must publicly present and defend their Masters research (thesis) proposal. Only those who have passed the proposal defense are allowed to proceed with their research (Phase II (b)).
PHASE II (b) – DISSERTATION COMPLETION
- Data Collection, Data Analysis and Dissertation Writing
- Upon completion, submission and examination of the dissertation, a student is required to undertake a viva voce.

- Radio Frequency and Microwave Engineering: Microwave Circuits, Radar, Antennas and Propagation.
- Telecommunication Networks and Machine Vision.
Research cluster 2: Microelectronics
- Microelectronics and Integrated Circuit Designs. (Using Industry standard software for IC Chip Design)
- Power Electronics.
Research cluster 3: Industry Robotics
- Robotics and Automation
- Control System
- Artificial Intelligence
CHECK IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE
- A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the HEP Senate; OR
- A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 (not meeting CGPA of 2.75) can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; OR
- A bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 (not meeting CGPA of 2.50) can be accepted subject to:
- A minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant field and rigorous internal assessment.
- Candidates without a qualification in the related fields or relevant working experience must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by the HEP and meet the minimum CGPA based on (i) to (iii).
