On August 16 2023, a group of 4 lecturers and 26 students from the Faculty of Architecture and Built Environment took part in the Volunteering and Environmental Education Program. This event was organised in collaboration with the Free Tree Society (FTS) and sponsored by CIMB ISLAMIC BANK BERHAD at Taman Tugu Nursery in Kuala Lumpur. The activities during the event included a planting workshop, an environmental lecture, and guided walks through the nearby jungle.
The volunteering initiative served as a practical component of the landscape architecture course, allowing participants to gain first-hand knowledge about plants, ecology, and urban forest ecosystems. In addition to their learning experience, the students were able to make a meaningful contribution to the Taman Tugu nursery by engaging in volunteering efforts alongside the FTS team.
