KAJANG, 24 November 2025 – Kuala Lumpur University of Science and Technology warmly welcomed a delegation from Tongji University, China, led by Professor Shi Qian, Secretary of the Party Committee of its Faculty of Economics and Management.

This exchange served as a significant opportunity for both institutions to explore new strategic collaboration pathways and deepen internationalisation in education and industry-academia integration. It also highlighted KLUST’s foresight and commitment to engaging with world-renowned universities and leading regional innovation in education and technology.

The discussions, held in an open and pragmatic atmosphere, featured in-depth exchanges on core topics including scientific research innovation, talent cultivation, industrial upgrading, and enhancing global influence. Both parties explored implementing various collaborative initiatives through the establishment of joint international platforms.

Professor Chen Xiaoyun, KLUST’s Chairman of the Board, shared the university’s successful experience in closely aligning educational practices with industrial development through platforms such as the “Luban Workshop” and the “ASEAN-China Community for Industry-Education Integration.” He emphasised that enabling Malaysian society to benefit widely from high-quality educational outcomes remains the unwavering mission of KLUST and a vital reflection of an educational institution’s core social value.

KLUST and Tongji University share a long-standing relationship, marked by continuous collaboration since 2006. This recent visit further enhanced mutual understanding, solidified consensus on discipline development and research innovation, and laid a solid foundation for expanding future collaboration in education, scientific research, and industry synergy. This successful interaction stands as a vivid example of both universities’ joint efforts to advance the internationalisation of higher education and sets a new model for educational cooperation between China and ASEAN.
