On 7 June 2026, Kuala Lumpur University of Science and Technology (KLUST) welcomed a delegation from Chizhou Vocational and Technical College, led by Party Secretary Mr. Beng Xingyu, for a courtesy visit and collaboration meeting. The delegation was received by Professor Chen Xiaoyun, Chairman of the KLUST Board of Directors, together with Professor Suraya and Professor Huam Hon Tat, Deputy Vice-Chancellors of KLUST, and members of the university management team.

During the meeting, Professor Huam Hon Tat presented an overview of KLUST’s development, academic strengths, and international collaboration achievements.

Mr Beng Xingyu, Party Secretary of Chizhou Vocational and Technical College, introduced the institution’s academic profile, disciplinary strengths and internationalisation initiatives, and expressed strong interest in strengthening long-term collaboration with KLUST. Both institutions discussed the development of an international platform centred on “Chinese Language + Vocational Skills”, aimed at nurturing industry-ready talent for Malaysia, China and the wider ASEAN region.

Discussions further covered potential collaboration in curriculum development, student and staff mobility, academic exchange, teaching and learning cooperation, cultural programmes and joint training initiatives. Both parties agreed that the visit would further strengthen institutional ties and expand future cooperation in international education.

The meeting culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a new phase of strategic cooperation between the two institutions.

Professor Chen Xiaoyun highlighted KLUST’s commitment to an open and internationally engaged education model, with a strong emphasis on industry–academia collaboration and regional engagement across China and ASEAN. He noted that the partnership aligns with the spirit of the Belt and Road Initiative and will further enhance vocational education cooperation and talent development between Malaysia and China.

Prior to the signing ceremony, the delegation toured KLUST’s campus facilities, including the One-Stop Student Service Centre, laboratories and teaching facilities, gaining further insight into the university’s academic environment and international engagement initiatives.
