China-Malaysia Cultural Integration Embarks on a New Journey, Mountains and Seas Jointly Compose a New Chapter KLUST and Anhui Lvhai Vocational College of Business Jointly Host the 2026 China-Malaysia Cultural Exchange Week Series of Events

As a sister institution of the Star Teenagers International Group, the Kuala Lumpur University of Science and Technology (KLUST) delegation was invited to Anhui Lvhai Vocational College of Business from January 14th to 19th to jointly organize the “China-Malaysia Cultural Exchange Week” series of events. Themed “Thousands of Horses Gallop into a New Journey, Mountains and Seas Join Hands to Compose a Splendid Chapter”, the event encompassed a variety of exciting content, including a Chinese-Malaysian cultural exchange Spring Festival gala, expert seminars, and an industry-education integration conference, building a solid bridge for educational exchanges and cultural mutual appreciation between China and Malaysia. KLUST’s Executive President, Prof. Ts. Dr. David Ngo Chek Ling, Vice President, Prof. Dr. Suraya Amirrudin, and other representatives from Chinese government, administrative bodies, enterprises, and schools gathered together to participate in this cultural event and explore new paths for international education development.

Cultural feast paints a picture of integration, and people-to-people bond lays the foundation for cooperation

On the evening of January 15th, the China-Malawi Cultural Exchange New Year Gala was spectacularly staged at the Anhui Lvhai Vocational College of Business gymnasium, becoming the highlight of this exchange week. The KLUST delegation, along with representatives from Chinese government, administrative bodies, enterprises, and schools, as well as teachers and students from the entire college, gathered together to enjoy this audio-visual feast that integrates “cultural integration, international vision, and new ideas of the times”. The gala was carefully crafted into four chapters: “Galloping Horses Welcoming Spring – Shining Together Across the World”, “A World of Great Harmony – Mutual Learning of Civilizations”, “Sailing on the Green Sea – Adding Colors to the Voyage”, and “United in Pursuit of Excellence – Towards Glory Together”. A variety of performances such as songs, dances, sitcoms, and floral displays took turns on stage, fully showcasing the outstanding talents and spirited demeanor of teachers and students from both schools.

The prelude “Drumbeat Shakes the Lion, Leaping into a New Journey” ignited the audience with passionate drum beats and vigorous lion dances, symbolizing the vigorous development of China and Malaysia; “Ode to Blue and White Porcelain, Eulogizing Splendid Chapters” interpreted the elegance and profoundness of Chinese traditional culture through graceful dance movements, while “The Sound of Flower Drums, Enchanting Anhui Style” brought the authentic local customs of Anhui, allowing KLUST guests to immersively experience the diverse charm of Chinese culture; “The Power of Classics” resonated the cultural classics of China and Malaysia on the stage, conveying spiritual nourishment that transcends national boundaries; the chorus “Unite to Create Brilliance” was magnificent, singing out the common vision of the two schools to move forward hand in hand and embark on a shared future, with prolonged applause from the audience.

In his speech, Xu Xinwang, Executive President of Anhui Lvhai Vocational College of Business, emphasized that the international cooperation with KLUST is a crucial step in the school’s journey of “vocational education going global”. This evening party is not only a showcase of the talents and skills of Chinese and Malaysian teachers and students, but also a testimony to the educational friendship between the two countries. The delegation from KLUST highly praised the evening party, believing that the event allowed Chinese and Malaysian cultures to sparkle brilliantly in their collision, laying a solid emotional foundation for deepening cooperation between the two sides. The evening party was broadcast live simultaneously through mainstream media such as Xinhuanet and Hefei Evening News, with online views exceeding 2 million, attracting widespread social attention.

Professional exchanges explore development paths, and industry-education collaboration opens a new chapter of cooperation

Culture sets the stage, while education performs on it. During the “China-Malawi Cultural Exchange Week”, multiple high-level professional exchange activities were held simultaneously, establishing a solid bond for China and Malawi to share experiences, exchange ideas, and deepen cooperation in education.

On January 16th, the KLUST delegation participated in the inaugural meeting of the Yangtze River Delta Digital Creativity and 3D Printing Industry Industry-Education Integration Community and the annual meeting of the Anhui Digital Creativity Vocational Education Group. They engaged in in-depth discussions with experts and scholars from academia and industry on core topics such as vocational education reform in the digital era and innovation in industry-education integration models, jointly mapping out a blueprint for high-quality development of vocational education.

At the expert symposium on January 17th, the KLUST delegation listened to the wonderful sharing of Professor Cai Sanfa from Tongji University on “The Application of ‘Multi-planning Integration’ Method in Vocational College Planning” and Dean Wang Wei from Anhui Business College on “The Connotation and Construction Practice of Key Elements in Higher Vocational Education and Teaching”. Professor Cai Sanfa’s systematic interpretation of the “Multi-planning Integration” planning concept and practical tools provided scientific guidance for optimizing educational development planning; Dean Wang Wei’s experience in connotation construction focusing on the five core elements of majors, courses, textbooks, teachers, and internship and practical training provided valuable reference for improving teaching quality. Chinese experts and delegation members fully interacted on core topics such as educational planning formulation and innovation in industry-education integration paths, sharing practical experience and exchanging cutting-edge ideas.

In addition, the KLUST delegation also immersively participated in activities such as intangible cultural heritage pottery experience, Fengyang flower drum cultural appreciation, and performances by folk music orchestras. They visited universities such as Hefei University of Technology, Anhui University of Applied Technology, and Hefei Technology College, and high-tech enterprises such as Dongchao Technology, Guoyi Quantum, and Gravitational Wave Intelligence Spectrum. Through hands-on practice, they experienced Chinese traditional culture, learned about China’s education model and technological innovation development, and further deepened their understanding and comprehension of Chinese culture, education, and technology.

Deepening cooperation to embark on a new journey, and jointly cultivating talents to promote mutual understanding among people

As a significant force in Malaysia’s higher education sector, KLUST has always been dedicated to establishing a platform for cross-border educational exchanges and fostering international cooperation and cultural mutual appreciation. The joint hosting of the “China-Malaysia Cultural Exchange Week” series of events represents a crucial step in the school’s implementation of its internationalization development strategy and serves as a vivid illustration of China-Malaysia educational collaboration.

In the future, KLUST will take this event as an important opportunity to further deepen strategic cooperation with Chinese higher education institutions and high-tech enterprises. We will carry out deeper cooperation in areas such as professional construction, teacher training, industry-education integration, and joint talent cultivation, promoting resource sharing and complementary advantages between both parties. We are committed to cultivating more high-quality technical and skilled talents with an international perspective and excellent skills, making greater contributions to enhancing cultural exchanges between the two countries, and allowing the flower of China-Malawi educational cooperation to bloom even more splendidly.
