KLUST Welcomes A Delegation From the Anhui Provincial Advisory Office

KLUST / Thursday, 25 September 2025 / Published in Campus News

On 25 September 2025, KLUST was honoured to welcome Mr. Zuo Jun, Counselor of the Anhui Provincial Government, and former Deputy Secretary-General of the Provincial Government, and Mr. Liang Bing, Vice-Chairman of the Anhui Provincial Counselor’s Office. Their visit to KLUST was a key stop in their educational cooperation and exchange program in Malaysia.

This visit not only highlighted the growing educational collaboration between the two regions but also underscored the Anhui Provincial Government’s commitment to advancing the province’s presence globally.

Warmly received by Prof. Chen Xiaoyun, Chairman of KLUST, the delegation began their visit at the university’s exhibition area in Block 11, where each display reflects KLUST’s continuous journey of growth and development. Prof. Chen personally shared the university’s motto, mission, vision, and values, and highlighted a series of innovative initiatives aimed at enhancing educational quality and strengthening international impact. The delegation commended KLUST’s distinctive educational philosophy and its strong momentum for future development.

KLUST’s Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Huam Hon Tat, presided over the session and delivered the welcome address. Speaking on behalf of the university community, he warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and offered a brief introduction to KLUST.

Vice Chairman Mr. Liang Bing outlined the purpose of the visit and provided an overview of Anhui Province, highlighting its current industrial development. He commended KLUST’s remarkable achievements under its “Education Going Global” strategy, noting that the university has not only pioneered new models for the internationalization of education in Anhui and China, but has also fostered stronger cultural exchanges between China and Malaysia.

Prof. Chen Xiaoyun then presented a report titled “Strengthening ASEAN Ties, Driving KLUST Forward—Towards a Global Community in Education.” He reviewed the university’s major initiatives since its management transition in April, including the successful hosting of a graduation ceremony, renaming ceremony, and opening ceremony—each reflecting KLUST’s renewed vision and dynamic image.

On industry collaboration, he highlighted KLUST’s deep integration with leading enterprises such as iSoftStone, Huawei, and Chery Automobile, providing students with practical training opportunities and strong career pathways. Internationally, KLUST has actively engaged in ASEAN–China exchanges, most notably by hosting the inaugural ASEAN–China Artificial Intelligence Conference. As Vice-Chairman of the China–ASEAN Transportation AI Innovation and Cooperation Center, KLUST continues to drive academic and research cooperation. In addition, the university has signed a cooperation agreement with Guangxi University to advance joint initiatives in industry–education integration, talent cultivation, and academic exchange.

Prof. Chen also emphasized the significance of the Luban Workshop, led by KLUST, as a landmark achievement of Anhui’s global education efforts. He affirmed that KLUST will continue to invest in educational innovation and align closely with industrial development to further strengthen the international influence of Chinese education.

Mr. Zuo Jun expressed his sincere gratitude for the warm reception at KLUST and fully affirmed the institution’s efforts in promoting China-Malaysia friendship and demonstrating the international influence of education. He highly praised the university’s remarkable achievements in a short period, especially the breakthrough progress in infrastructure construction, connotation enhancement, international exchanges, and university-enterprise cooperation. He encouraged KLUST to maintain its steady development pace, continue to scale new heights, and become a model and benchmark for education going global from Anhui and even the whole of China.

This visit further strengthened mutual understanding and trust between Anhui, KLUST, and all relevant partners, laying a strong foundation for future collaboration. Both sides expressed their commitment to seizing this opportunity to enhance communication, deepen the scope of cooperation, and jointly promote the internationalization of education. Together, they aim to nurture more high-caliber talents equipped with global perspectives and cross-cultural competencies.
