Kuala Lumpur University of Science and Technology (KLUST) proudly attended the 2025 QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific at Korea University, led by President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ts. Dr. David Ngo Chek Ling and the university leadership team.
This participation marks a significant milestone following KLUST’s rebranding from Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL), symbolising a new wave, direction, and mission to provide education that advances society and humanity.

The Summit brought together over 1,500 delegates and 180 speakers from leading universities and institutions across the Asia Pacific region. Distinguished speakers included His Excellency Ban Ki-moon, the 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations, who emphasised the importance of education, collaboration, and global citizenship in building a sustainable future.
As one of the world’s most influential higher education platforms, the QS Summit provides university leaders, policymakers, and experts with opportunities to explore transformative trends. This year’s focus highlighted the Asia Pacific region’s growing influence on the global academic landscape, with innovation, employability, and international collaboration as key pillars of educational excellence.

For KLUST, the Summit offered a valuable platform to engage with globally renowned universities, gain insights from international experts, and explore emerging trends shaping the future of higher education. The delegation also explored potential collaborations to strengthen KLUST’s position as a progressive, industry-focused, and globally connected university.

Building on this momentum, KLUST will continue to deliver high-quality teaching, produce internationally impactful research, and provide future-ready education aligned with Malaysia’s national development goals and the sustainable development agendas of China and ASEAN. The university will actively promote industry-academia integration and cultivate talents with innovative skills capable of driving societal progress, contributing to both regional development and global educational innovation.
In addition to attending the Summit hosted by Korea University, the KLUST leadership team also visited Hansung University to explore opportunities for collaboration. Both universities expressed a strong commitment to strengthening their partnership, which is expected to bring mutual benefits and open new horizons for KLUST’s international growth. The collaboration will soon be formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a significant step in expanding KLUST’s global network and academic presence.

A new chapter begins — new mission, new direction, new impact.
KLUST is advancing confidently toward the QS World University Rankings, aiming for global recognition and excellence.
