A SHARED COMMITMENT TO BETTER LEARNING Round 7 brought together lecturers from three academic units to demonstrate ideas that can strengthen classroom practice and student engagement.
The Teaching & Learning Centre (TLC) successfully concluded Round 7 of the Teaching Competency & Innovation Competition 2026 on 21 September 2026. The competition continues to provide KLUST lecturers with a collegial platform to present their teaching practices, explain the thinking behind their approaches and contribute to professional learning across the university.
This round featured Puan Aniza from FBiHS, Dr Abbas from FEST and Ts Dr Audi Majdan from CFGS. Their presentations reflected the breadth of teaching expertise at KLUST and demonstrated a common commitment to making learning purposeful, engaging and relevant to students.
Teaching Ideas Across Disciplines
Each presenter approached teaching innovation from a different disciplinary perspective. Together, the presentations showed that meaningful innovation does not depend on one method or technology. It begins with a clear understanding of learners, well-defined outcomes and the thoughtful selection of strategies that help students connect knowledge with practice.

From individual practice to shared learning
A key strength of the competition is the opportunity it creates for lecturers to make their classroom practices visible. Presenters do more than demonstrate an activity: they explain its purpose, its connection to learning and the considerations involved in applying it effectively. This openness allows colleagues to reflect on their own teaching and consider how promising ideas might be adapted within different disciplines.
The session also reinforced the importance of balancing creativity with sound educational judgement. Effective teaching innovation should support clear learning outcomes, meaningful participation and an inclusive learning environment. The questions and feedback shared during the session extended the presentations into a wider professional conversation about what students need and how lecturers can respond.

Recognition for Excellence
Following the presentations and evaluation, Ts Dr Audi Majdan from CFGS was announced as the winner of Round 7. His achievement reflects the value of purposeful teaching design, clear professional sharing and a strong commitment to improving students’ learning experiences.
