Professor Chen Xiaoyun, Chairman of the Board of Kuala Lumpur University of Science and Technology, Attends the 13th China Human Resource Management Forum

KLUST / Tuesday, 21 October 2025 / Published in Campus News

From October 17 to 19, the highly anticipated 13th China Human Resource Management Forum was successfully held at Nantong University. With the theme “Intelligent Convergence of Talent, Quality Leading the Future: The Mission and Innovation of Human Resource Management in the Era of Artificial Intelligence,” the event brought together nearly 600 participants from over 230 universities, research institutions, and enterprises across China.

Professor Chen Xiaoyun, Chairman of the Board of the Kuala Lumpur University of Science and Technology (KLUST), attended the forum as a distinguished guest, adding a strong international dimension to the event. Prior to the forum, KLUST sent a congratulatory message to the organizing committee, extending warm wishes for its complete success.

In his opening address, Ji Mingming, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Nantong University Committee and Deputy Vice Chancellor of Nantong University, emphasized that the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence and emerging productive forces is profoundly reshaping organizational structures and talent systems. This transformation, he noted, presents unprecedented challenges and demands for human resource management. He expressed hope that the forum would strengthen interdisciplinary integration, deepen theoretical understanding of HRM in the AI era, and highlight the discipline’s contemporary relevance and practical value.

Professor Zhao Shuming, Senior Professor of Humanities and Social Sciences at Nanjing University and Honorary Dean of the Nanjing University Business School, underscored the importance of seizing new opportunities in the age of human–machine collaboration. He encouraged deeper academic exchange and intellectual innovation to drive talent development and management transformation in the AI era. Professor Zhao warmly welcomed Professor Chen’s attendance, commending KLUST’s distinguished reputation in international education and praising Professor Chen’s outstanding contributions to academia and university leadership. He remarked that Professor Chen’s participation brought fresh perspectives and valuable insights to the forum.

During the event, Professor Chen held in-depth discussions with experts and scholars from leading institutions including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Nanjing University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Tongji University. They exchanged views on frontier topics such as “The Impact of Digital-Intelligent Technologies on HRM Research” and “Artificial Intelligence and Human Resource Management Studies.” Professor Chen also extended a warm invitation for these scholars to visit KLUST for academic exchange and introduced the university’s achievements in disciplinary development and research innovation. He expressed his sincere hope for closer international collaboration and scholarly exchange in the future.

The forum featured a diverse and enriching program, comprising nine keynote addresses, four parallel sessions, two entrepreneur lectures, forty breakout sessions, along with poster presentations and academic journal networking activities. These sessions provided participants with a dynamic platform for intellectual exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Since its launch in 2012, the China Human Resource Management Forum has become a leading academic platform in the field, successfully hosted twelve times at prestigious universities across China, with its influence continuing to grow.

KLUST’s participation in this year’s forum not only infused new vitality and international perspectives into the event but also strengthened academic dialogue and cooperation, jointly advancing the development of human resource management and related disciplines—while contributing to the cultivation of high calibre talents equipped to meet the demands of the new era.
